Random Thoughts...

Addie is still a great eater. She had her first bites of green beans and loved them.

"Let's snuggle," are my two favorite words to hear when I wake Jackson up in the morning. It's no wonder I'm always late for work. Wouldn't you be?

Speaking of work: Today is my boss' last day. I'm SOO sad. She was really a joy to work for and made my job enjoyable. Booo!

I've been working on a painting project in the kids bathroom recently that involves drawing lines on the walls and then taping where I will paint. Last night Jackson took a pencil to the wall. I reacted poorly and when he said "but you are doing it mom and I was just trying to help," I felt horrible. I have to keep reminding myself what it's like to be in his shoes.

We are still sleeping half of the night with Addie in bed with us. I feed her at 8:30 and put her to bed around 9:30 in her crib. If we are lucky, she doesn't fuss again until around 2:30 or 3:00. It's after this feeding, that I can't take the time to put her back in her crib so I feed her in bed and there she sleeps in between her mom and dad.

My plate is probably too full these days and my mood is showing it. I'm always behind on something; laundry, housework, homework, or MPR work. I don't ever seem to be caught up... and if I am it's just a moment before I'm behind again.

I wish I could scrapbook more. I have really found that what makes me happy is being creative. This painting project is filling that role for now, but I really need to be doing something creative at all times and it's hard to fit that in. I have so many projects stored in my head right now and so little time to work on any of them.

For my writing class, I need to write a story in 55 words or less. The story needs to have characters, a plot, a setting and a resolution. Try it, it's kind of fun. I'll share mine here when I'm done with it.

Michelle Obama was on Sesame Street today talking about growing vegetables from seed.

Yesterday I was asked to add a bit more to my plate at work. When it rains it pours.

Addie's poo smells like buttered popcorn. Jackson's smelled the same way when he was a baby. Why buttered popcorn?

I am going scrapbooking tonight. I can't wait.

I am now completely sure that working at MPR is far easier than staying at home with two kids.

Having the ability to get coffee whenever I want is my favorite part about going back to work.

I met Joanna for coffee this week. We fit more conversation into a 15 minute coffee break than we do in a 2 hour play date with kids.

Addie sucks on her hands a lot.

I think I SHOCKED my dad when I told him not to talk about biting your own toenails, because Jackson has a problem with that. He didn't believe me.

Jackson asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told him a hug and a kiss. Then I asked what he wanted for Christmas. His response: A boy with a penis on his head. Ummm... wha?

Random thoughts...

I am so proud of Jackson, he is potty trained during the day and at naptime... we'll work on night time later.

Jackson has a wonderful imagination: Last night while downstairs he brought his stool up to a bench in the downstairs bathroom that is slatted and pretended to play the piano.

Addie doesn't hate tummy time as much as her brother did. This morning she fell asleep during tummy time, and she is still sleeping.

The last two nights Addie has only woken at night twice, once at 2:30 and at 6:30. That's not too bad, it took an hour to get her back to sleep the first time and right away the second time. I'm still tired.

Yesterday I read Jackson 9 books, his dad read a few at bedtime and his grandma read him at least one while he visited. I'm so happy he loves books. Right now he is "reading" a book to his alligator.

I am going out to dinner tonight with two girlfriends!! This is the first since Addie was born, I can't wait!

I stepped in poop this morning. I'm going to leave it at that.

I did make the Moroccan Chicken Soup and it was super tasty.

We are hoping to hear of an offer on our house this afternoon. I am trying not to get too excited, so that I don't get bummed out if it doesn't happen, but it isn't working.

I think that Chegg.com is great. It's an online textbook library. You borrow a book at half the cost to buy the book, they plant a tree in honor of you not buying the book new and cutting down a tree, send you the textbook and you return it when you are done with your semester on their dime.

Nickjr.com has tons of games and coloring projects that Jackson and I enjoy doing together.

We just taught our kid to pee in the woods... when you gotta go, you gotta go.

I was right that Joan Cusak is the voice of Peep!

I wonder how many other famous voices voice tv cartoon characters?

Is putting a bow in Addie's hair ridiculous? Yes, but I just did it anyway.

It feels kind of sad to have a for sale sign in our front yard. This house has a lot of memories but I'm glad we had a showing already even if it didn't end up in a sale.

I have eaten a lot of Jimmy John's and Baja Sol this maternity leave. Last time it was Little Oven, Davanni's and Culvers.

I don't love that the boy went poo and asked me to "look at this big log!"

I just realized that my blog is now loaded with words like poo, pee, potty and penis.

And lastly: I could really go for a McDonalds sweet tea!

Why pay someone $200 for a break job when my husband can do them for free? I think that's pretty cool.

I'm struggling to find time to eat. I don't want to use what little free time I have cooking.

On average I don't brush my teeth until 10:00 a.m. every day.

Jackson thinks everyone that comes to the door is the mail carrier. The Jimmy John's delivery dude told Jackson that he's the sandwich man. I wonder now if we will switch from mail carrier to sandwich man.

I am embarassed that Ron figured out the mouse features on the new laptop before me.

I need to look up my Spanish vocabulary. Jackson keep asking: "What's this in Spanish, Mommy?"

Addie has gas.

I think it might be my high consumption of dairy that is contributing to her gas problems. I don't think I can live without dairy.

Random thoughts...

I imagine there will be many posts of this nature: random thoughts from the day compiled haphazardly. There just isn't time or brain power to write meaningful posts anymore, but I don't want to lose track of what's happening in our world by not posting at all, so forgive me.

Ron has pointed out that I have an obsession with bags and referred to me as a "bag lady"

I hope that this is just a bad case of baby acne

I wish the library wouldn't supply my kid with a play area filled with pretend plastic food.

My child does not understand "pretend to eat"

In the days of H1N1 I almost had a melt-down while watching my child lick the plastic pineapple!

I want Jackson to appreciate music and don't think it's crazy that I bought him a drum at a garage sale today

Jackson ate the corn dog outside, skipped the hot dog and ate the ice cream sandwich and I don't mind

My kid can pee standing up and now it's a battle to get him to sit down to poop... this could be a real problem
