Sick

Early Sunday morning Addie woke up calling out from her bedroom, she wanted to be in mom and dad's bed.  I brought her back in to snuggle and try to get her back to sleep.  I knew she must not have been feeling all that well, there was a lot of heavy coughing noises coming from her room thoughout the night.

We watched a bit of tv and then decided to all get back to sleep.  It was dark in our room when Addie sat straight up.  I felt her tummy gurgle and I put my hand to her mouth just in time. I did what any mother would do... I caught her vomit.  All was going to be okay until the girl coughed.  What a mess!?!

It may have just been a fluke because the rest of the day was without incident. And she was so cute later on snuggled on the couch snoring away.

Harold and the Purple Crayon

My mom got third row seats to Harold and the Purple Crayon at the Children's Theater for her and Jackson.  When I told Jackson he was worried that the story was going to be boring.  I asked him to please only tell Grandma that he had a great time.  I made him promise that he could come home and tell me he was bored but that it would hurt Grandma's feelings if he told her it was boring.

When Grandma Pam came to pick him up she asked him if he was excited.

Damn... this was not a question I prepped him for.  He looked up at me sheepishly and I tilted my head and gave him a subtle glare.  At five has this child learned how to read my facial expression, I wondered.  Aha! He did... he smiled and said "kinda".  "Kinda" was much better than the "I don't want to go" that I knew he was thinking.

When Grandma and Jackson returned with purple crayon cookies in hand, I could tell by the sparkle in his eyes that he indeed had fun! I pulled him aside to see how it went and he said "I actually liked it!".  What a thrill.  He told me all about the show and admitted that he was a bit scared when the crab came.  Here he is waiting for the curtain to roll!

Thanks Grandma Pam!

No more nukey!!!

I haven't posted because I was so afraid to jinx it but... Addie has now gone to sleep without a nukey for one week!

Ron decided it was time, he was right but I wasn't brave. I am glad Ron got us through this one!

Stratego

This 5 year old is brilliant. He taught me to play and then the game held his attention for over an hour!!

Happy Valentine's Day, I've got Pooh!

When Ron got home from work today she gave him a hug and said Happy Valentine's, it was incredibly cute! Then she followed it up with "I've got Pooh!"  Which was even more hysterical because Ron was not there to see that his mom gave Addie a little Winnie the Pooh doll for Valentine's Day.
