Family Photography

I know there is so much more to write about; we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and I have a recipe to share.  We've also made a trip to urgent care and a doctor appt (after a nebulizer and antibiotics Addie will be okay).  And I have the greatest video to upload that I must share with all of you.

But at my fingertips, because I've been cropping and color editing photos all night, I have photos from a photo shoot to share.  Go on over to my other website at http://www.photographybyslh.blogspot.com/ to see them!

Time for breakfast...

I can remember doing this exact thing when I was about this age.  I cringe every time he gets up on the counters, worried that he will fall.  But it is the start of him getting his breakfast on his own so that we can sleep in.  What's for breakfast ths morning Jackson?  Is that oatmeal?

Would you get your socks...

Mom: Jackson would you get a pair of socks please?
Jackson: I'm a diggingest dog, not Jackson
Mom: Okay, would you go dig up some socks?
Jackson: Nope, now I'm a cowboy! (as he uses the tie for my bathrobe as a lasso while hopping on our bed)
Mom: Alright.  Then, would you please lasso up some socks?
Jackson: Okay.

Snow falling...

We woke up today to the first day of winter weather, 10 inches of snow!  Very wet snow, perfect snow for snowman making.

Last year Addie was too young to be able to enjoy the snow.  During all of our winter outings Addie was bundled in her infant seat sitting on a pile of snow while we went sledding, played in the snow or went ice skating.  Though last year she did make it on one toboggan ride downhill in her infant seat.

This year,Addie took off her mitten first thing and picked up a chunk of snow and played with it in her fingers. She was happy sit in the snow for a spell, but after waiting for us to build Mr. Snowman she had lost her patience.

Jackson, on the other hand, couldn't wait to get out in the snow to play in it! He would have went out in his pajamas if I would have let him.  He had a blast making a snowman, hiding under trees, and making snow angels.  Mom and Grandma did most of the snowman making, but Jackson directed where the accessories went and was happy to add the corn-cob pipe!  Happy Winter... see you in the snow!

Germs suck...

Jackson has a night of throwing up. (Older post)
I miss Dame and Tasha's wedding reception to stay home with a sick boy.
Jackson didn't eat for for five days.
Sara and Ron woke up sick on Wednesday.
My Dad takes Jackson to school.
Jan picks up Addie.
Jan calls, Addie is throwing up.
Addie throws up in car on the way home.
My Dad picks up Jackson from school.
My Dad calls, Jackson is sick.
Jackson comes home with bellyache, crying in my lap while watching The Incredibles.
One day of everyone home sick -- all day.
Day ends on a nice note, flying a kite in the park.
Two sick days and one vacation day, today is Friday, only Addie is still a little out of sorts.

Blue's Clues...

We found a fun game to play around the house come winter... Blue's Clues. Only you folks who have had a toddler running around in the last five years will know what Blue's Clues and if you don't know, don't torture yourself. Anyhow.... Steve solves Blue's clues using his handy-dandy notebook. I play the part of Blue and Jackson plays Steve drawing the clues in his notebook with only a green crayon (that's what Steve uses in the show). It's been pretty entertaining so far.

Learning a valuable lesson...

Ron teaches Jackson how to change a tire, I picked up a nail in mine.

A tummy bug finds Jackson

On Saturday evening at Spooky Splash (Ron's event at the community center) Jackson suddenly started complaining that he didn't feel good. I was to bring kids to Grandma Jan's after the event and on the way there he fell asleep, after driving all of a block. I figured he must be just really tired. I dropped kids off and ran home to get ready for Dame and Tasha's wedding reception. My dad drove me there, dropped me off and I no more than got a drink and Ron called to tell me that Jackson was throwing up. I called my dad to have him turn around and pick me right back up. I headed for home to comfort my poor sick boy. Grandma was a wonderful nurse, but this was his first time throwing up and I just needed to be by his side. We cuddled up in mom and dad's bed and settled in for a long night of throwing up. He was feeling somewhat better by morning, but as of this evening, he hasn't eaten anything since Saturday morning. These pictures were taken after a bath to clean him all up... he didn't make it to the toilet or the bucket every time.
