Daddys at the zoo...

On Saturday my friend Heather and I took a night off and went out for a night of scrapbooking with our other friend Emily. Our husbands loaded our boys up and set out for the Minnesota Zoo. It sounds like the four boys had a good time together checking out all the animals, while the dads got to spend some time together too. On their way out of the zoo they pulled up next to our friends John and Janine (such a crazy coincidence) and they all went out for dinner together.

By the time the ladies got home from their little scrapbooking retreat boys were still awake and full of energy!


(I did ask Ron to comb his hair next time they go out after nap time.)

Farm babies are here...

My friend Joanna and I took our babies (and the ones inside our bellies) to opening day of farm babies at the MN Zoo. The kids really enjoyed feeding the goats!

A trip to the zoo

We took Jackson to the MN Zoo again over Labor Day weekend. Our membership was a smart purchase this year, we've really made good use of it.

Lions and tigers and bears...

Sunday morning at breakfast Ron thought we should get moving and head to the MN Zoo to see the new Grizzly Coast exhibit. He thought if we got there right at opening we'd miss the crowd, since the exhibit opened just the day before. He was right, and we had a great time!

So close to bears! I couldn't believe it.

Another weekend behind us. Here's what kept us busy.

We built a tunnel in our living room that Jackson and mom played many games of hide and seek in:

Grandma Horwath found this great car up the road at a good garage sale price:

Dad spotted this Little Tikes picnic table in someone's yard with a free sign attached. (high-five dad!) I also got new shoes that you can see in this photo (thanks Grandma Leier):

And because our Texas friends were coming into town, and we wanted to be able to drive them to the zoo, we purchased this minivan:

Despite the SNOW, we got out and had a fun, fast and memorable weekend. Jackson "helped" my dad plant a tree, we went to the MN Zoo, to the Woodbury Indoor Park (again) and blew bubbles outside. Here are some photos to document our fun:

P.S. The subject line of this post pays tribute to my tendency to always be in a rush, and the corresponding citation I received over the weekend. I think my weekends from here on out, shouldn't be so speedy.
