Zoo Boo

My mom, Ron and I took the kids to Como Park's Zoo Boo and had a fun time.  Jackson was really excited about being an astronaut and happily put on his costume on his own.  He even told grandma that he was Buzz Aldrin, not Buzz Lightyear when she asked.  Addie was not so excited about being a giraffe but made it most of the way through without tears.

Jackson had a great time running into pirates and farm animals but was less excited with it came to super heroes, star wars characters and was definitely not happy about seeing the urine cup. (Weird I think for a child's event) 

Halloween...

I never got around to writing a Halloween post, so I will share with you a few pictures from the events. We celebrated Halloween a lot this year, attending Spooky Splash at the Maplewood Community Center and Zoo Boo at Como Zoo. We also spent an evening carving pumpkins and one trick-or-treating.

Trick or treat...

I have not been very good about uploading photos lately, as I just haven't found the time. Here is one of Jackson in his Halloween costume, he was a puppy dog, woof-woof!

The cute giraffe...

Jackson is going to be a giraffe this Halloween, provided he doesn't gain an ounce or get any taller between now and then. I found a Haloween costume for Jackson at Once Upon A Child the other day. I brought it home, washed it and Ron put it on Jackson to make sure it would work. We put the little giraffe hood up over his head and guided him to the full-length mirror to take a gander of his new look. Jackson's response when he saw himself in the costume: "Cute".


I'm not sure where it came from, cute is not a word often used in our house. But let me tell you it sure was cute to hear him say it about himself.

Another Jackson update: When asked who his girlfriend is, he says "Reagan". A little friend of his from school. Who would have thought it would already be obsessing over members of the opposite sex at such a young age. Oh brother!

Just the beginning...

It used to be so easy to keep up with family and friends. I knew the daily thoughts and events of a lot of people's lives. For many reasons, life has gotten busier for all. I thought it would be fun to start writing, a hobby I used to devote more time to, and what better way for you to keep track of me and my family?

I also thought it would be a good way to record the early years for Jackson. Sort of a running narrative of his childhood. And if I keep to my promise of updating this blog regularly, friends and family can see the little Bug's progress.

Watch for Jackson to be cruising the streets as the cutest little scarecrow ever. Check back often for new adventures and photos.
